Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 12 October 2026

1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of this website and the pest control services provided by P.E.S.T. Control Services Ltd (SW) (“we”, “us” or “our”).

By accessing this website, submitting an enquiry or booking our services, you agree to the applicable terms set out below. Please read them carefully before using the website or arranging any services.

If you do not agree with these terms, please discontinue your use of the website.

2. About Our Services

We provide specialist rat control services, with a particular focus on commercial environments such as food waste transfer facilities and other sites where conventional poison-based pest control methods may be unsuitable.

Our services may include:

  • Rat control using appropriate shooting methods.
  • Site assessments and discussions about rodent activity.
  • Advice on rat behaviour, breeding cycles and habitats.
  • Recommendations to help reduce rat activity and the risk of future infestations.
  • Specialist assistance for commercial premises, subject to site conditions and operational requirements.

The services available for each customer will depend on the nature of the infestation, the location, site access, safety considerations and the methods appropriate for the circumstances.

Any specific service arrangements will be agreed with the customer before work begins.

3. Website Information and Content

The information on this website is provided for general informational purposes. This includes information about our services, rat ecology, pest behaviour and pest management.

While we make reasonable efforts to keep the information accurate and up to date, we do not guarantee that all content will always be complete, current or suitable for every situation.

Website content should not be treated as a substitute for a professional site assessment or advice specific to your circumstances.

We reserve the right to amend, update or remove website content at any time without prior notice.

4. Enquiries and Urgent Requests

You may contact us through the website, telephone, email or any message facility made available to submit a service enquiry or urgent request.

When contacting us, please provide accurate information about:

  • Your name and business or organisation, where applicable.
  • The location of the site requiring assistance.
  • The nature and extent of the rat activity.
  • Any relevant access restrictions or site-specific hazards.
  • Your preferred contact details and availability.

Submitting an enquiry or urgent request does not automatically constitute a confirmed booking or guarantee immediate attendance.

We will assess the information provided and advise you of the next appropriate steps, subject to our availability and the circumstances of the request.

Unless expressly agreed otherwise, the website’s message facility is not a monitored emergency service. Do not rely on it for immediate assistance where there is an imminent risk to life or safety.

5. Quotations and Bookings

Where appropriate, we will provide a quotation based on the information supplied by the customer and our assessment of the work required.

Unless stated otherwise in the quotation, prices will apply only to the work and scope specifically described.

A booking will be confirmed once the relevant arrangements have been agreed by both parties. These may include the service required, price, location, proposed date and any site-specific conditions.

If additional work is identified during a visit, we will discuss the requirements and any additional charges with the customer before proceeding, except where immediate action is reasonably necessary to address an urgent safety issue and is lawful.

Quotations may need to be revised if the information supplied was materially inaccurate or if site conditions differ significantly from those originally described.

6. Prices and Payment

The applicable service charges, payment arrangements and any additional costs will be communicated to the customer before the relevant work is undertaken.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • Payment must be made in accordance with the agreed payment terms.
  • Any additional work must be agreed before it is undertaken.
  • The customer is responsible for providing accurate billing information.
  • Any applicable cancellation charges must have been communicated and must be lawful and fair.

If an invoice remains unpaid beyond the agreed payment date, we may take appropriate steps to recover the outstanding amount in accordance with applicable law.

Nothing in these terms excludes any rights that customers may have under applicable consumer protection legislation.

7. Cancellations and Rescheduling

If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, please contact us as soon as possible.

We will explain any applicable cancellation or rescheduling arrangements when the booking is made. Any cancellation fee must be reasonable, appropriately disclosed and consistent with applicable law.

We reserve the right to rearrange or cancel a booking where circumstances beyond our reasonable control prevent us from carrying out the work safely or as agreed.

Where we need to change an appointment, we will make reasonable efforts to notify the customer and agree an alternative arrangement where possible.

Any statutory cancellation rights that apply to a consumer contract remain unaffected by this section.

8. Customer Responsibilities and Site Access

Customers must provide accurate information about the site and the pest problem and ensure that we have the necessary permission to access the relevant premises.

Before work begins, the customer must, where applicable:

  • Ensure that access arrangements have been agreed.
  • Identify relevant site hazards and operational restrictions.
  • Inform us of any relevant health and safety procedures.
  • Notify us of the presence of staff, visitors, contractors, livestock or other animals where relevant.
  • Identify restricted areas and any necessary site-specific protective measures.
  • Ensure that appropriate permissions have been obtained from the property owner or responsible site operator.

For commercial sites, including food waste transfer facilities, customers must inform us of relevant site rules, access procedures and operational requirements before the appointment.

We reserve the right to postpone, modify or refuse work if access is unavailable, essential information has not been provided or the work cannot be undertaken safely and lawfully.

9. Safety and Shooting Activities

Where rat control involves shooting, all activities will be subject to applicable laws, permissions, licensing requirements where relevant, and appropriate safety procedures.

Work will only be undertaken where the circumstances permit a lawful and appropriate method of control.

The method used will depend on the site environment, the location of the rats, the presence of people and animals, visibility, access, and other relevant safety considerations.

We may decline or suspend work if conditions are unsuitable or if the safe and lawful use of the proposed method cannot be established.

Customers must follow any reasonable safety instructions provided in connection with the work and must not interfere with the operation of equipment or enter restricted areas without permission.

No particular method of control is guaranteed to be suitable for every site or infestation.

10. Results and Limitations of Service

Our aim is to help customers manage rat activity effectively and appropriately.

However, pest control results depend on several factors, including:

  • The size and severity of the infestation.
  • The availability of food, water and shelter.
  • The condition of the premises.
  • Access to areas where rats are active.
  • Entry points and nearby sources of rodent activity.
  • Site operations and environmental conditions.
  • The effectiveness of any preventive measures implemented.

We cannot guarantee complete or permanent eradication of rats, or that rats will not return following treatment.

Where appropriate, we may recommend follow-up visits, environmental changes, proofing, improved waste management or other preventive measures. Any additional work and associated charges will be agreed separately where required.

11. Ecology and Educational Information

Any information provided on this website about rat behaviour, reproduction, habitats and ecology is intended for general educational purposes.

The behaviour and breeding patterns of rats can vary according to environmental conditions, food availability and other factors.

Although we endeavour to provide useful and accurate information, we do not warrant that general information will apply identically to every site or situation.

Customers should seek specific advice where an assessment of their individual circumstances is necessary.

12. Reviews and Testimonials

Customer reviews and testimonials displayed on this website are intended to reflect customers’ experiences of our services.

We aim to present reviews honestly and accurately. However, individual experiences and results may vary.

If you submit a review or testimonial, you must ensure that it reflects your genuine experience and does not contain unlawful, misleading, confidential or defamatory material.

By submitting a review, you grant us permission to consider it for publication on our website and related marketing materials, subject to applicable law. We will not assume that you have granted permission to publish identifiable personal information merely because you have submitted a review.

We reserve the right to moderate or remove content where appropriate.

13. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the text, images, graphics, branding and other content on this website belong to us or are used with appropriate permission.

You may access and use the website for personal or legitimate business information purposes.

You must not reproduce, republish, distribute, commercially exploit or otherwise use website content without obtaining permission from the relevant rights holder, except where permitted by law.

14. Website Availability and Security

We aim to keep this website available and functioning correctly. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that the website will always be free from errors or technical issues.

We may temporarily suspend access for maintenance, security updates or other operational reasons.

You must not misuse this website, attempt unauthorised access to its systems or interfere with its operation.

We are not responsible for interruptions caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.

15. Third-Party Websites

This website may contain links to third-party websites or external resources for additional information.

Accessing third-party websites is at your own discretion. We recommend reviewing their applicable terms and privacy policies.

16. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation would be unlawful.

Subject to the preceding paragraph, we will not be responsible for losses arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control or from inaccurate information supplied by a customer, to the extent permitted by law.

We do not accept responsibility for indirect or consequential losses where such liability may lawfully be excluded.

We will exercise reasonable care and skill in providing any services we agree to undertake.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

For consumers, nothing in these terms affects statutory rights under applicable UK consumer protection legislation.

17. Privacy and Personal Information

When you contact us or submit an enquiry through this website, we may need to collect and use personal information such as your name, telephone number, email address, business details and site address.

We will handle personal information in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation and our Privacy Policy.

Please refer to our Privacy Policy for further information about the information we collect, how we use it, how long we retain it and the rights available to you.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our services, business practices or legal obligations.

Any updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.

The terms applicable to a particular booking or service will be determined by the agreement between the parties and applicable law.

19. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless another applicable legal requirement provides otherwise.

Any dispute arising in connection with these terms will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales where they have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory legal rights or protections available to the customer.
